What skills and experience we're looking for
• Provide teaching support for students learning English as an Additional Language and direct activities with either individuals or groups of students to ensure increasing access to curricula and facilitate students’ physical, emotional and cognitive development.
• Support with the collation of data for targeted EAL students.
• To monitor individual student’s needs and provide regular feedback to the teacher.
• Monitor pupils responses to learning activities and accurately record pupil achievement/progress as directed.
• Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on students’ achievement and progress.
• Support the use of ICT in learning activities and develop pupils' competence and independence in its use.
• Undertake administrative duties necessary to co-ordinate and provide EAL support.
• Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Academic Coaching department, including the provision of coaching and training for colleagues in need of EAL support.
• To take responsibility for display and up keep of designated areas.
• Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and parents.
• Maintain and safeguard the confidential nature of student/teacher/home issues.
• Contribute to the maintenance of student safety and security, including break and lunchtime duties in the department and taxi duties if required.
• Attend departmental/Trust meetings as appropriate.
