Summary
The Role:
We are seeking for a passionate and experienced safeguarding professionals to join our team as a part time role in a job share arrangement as Senior Safeguarding Managers. Together, you will support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in ensuring our campus remains a safe and supportive environment for all students. You’ll take the lead on serious safeguarding cases, provide expert guidance to staff, and represent the college externally to strengthen our safeguarding practice.
To access New City College – Ardleigh Green Campus, you can travel by train to Gidea Park station on the Greater Anglia line, from where it is a short bus or taxi ride to the campus. Alternatively, the Hornchurch Underground station on the District Line provides convenient bus connections along Ardleigh Green Road. Several local bus routes also stop directly outside the campus, including services from Romford and Hornchurch town centre. For those travelling by car, the campus is easily reached via the A127 and A12, and there is an on-site car park available for visitors and students.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will lead and support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in all safeguarding and Prevent matters, while representing the college at external meetings and partnership boards. You will ensure that robust internal safeguarding systems and processes are in place, and manage and develop the campus safeguarding team by providing training and ongoing support. You will take the lead on serious safeguarding cases, you will offer guidance to staff and contribute to the development of safeguarding policies, training plans, and quality improvement strategies. In addition, you will support the Duty Manager scheme and produce termly progress reports for senior leaders and governors.
Who You Are:
• Level 4 qualification in Safeguarding or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge and practical understanding of safeguarding and Prevent.
• Experience of handling complex safeguarding cases and liaising with external agencies.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people and work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Knowledge of OFSTED Education Inspection Framework and issues affecting student attendance and progression.
