We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Sport Coach with skills in football, tennis, and basketball to deliver high-quality sessions that support and empower young people.
Role Purpose
To plan and deliver engaging and inclusive sports sessions—specifically football, tennis, and basketball—that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and personal growth among young people.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and deliver structured sessions in football, tennis, and basketball, tailored to a range of abilities.
Plan enjoyable and development-focused sports activities that encourage participation and skill-building.
Use sport as a tool to improve young people’s confidence, communication, teamwork, and wellbeing.
Manage group behaviour positively, ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
Act as a positive role model, fostering trust and motivating young people to achieve their potential.
Maintain equipment and ensure safe practice at all times.
Record attendance and share relevant updates or concerns with the Reflecteen team.
Support the wider Reflecteen programme where required, including events, mentoring, and outreach activities.
Uphold safeguarding procedures and contribute to a safe environment for all participants.
Person Specification
Essential
Professional or accredited coaching experience in at least one of the following:
Football
Tennis
Basketball
Ability to confidently deliver sessions across all three sports or a willingness to develop skills across them.
Proven experience coaching or leading physical activity sessions with young people.
Strong behaviour-management and communication skills.
Ability to motivate, encourage, and build rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds.
Reliable, organised, and committed to providing high-quality sessions.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Desirable
Professional certifications such as:
FA Level 1/2/UEFA C (Football)
Coaching Qualification (Tennis)
Basketball England Coaching Award
First Aid certification.
Experience working with young people with SEND or social/emotional needs.
Youth work, mentoring or outreach experience.
