About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a flexible, student focussed coordinator to work as part of the University’s Wellbeing Service.

The post-holder will be responsible for delivering Specialist Mentoring (MH/ASC), as part of Non-Medical Helper Provision, as funding by the Disabled Students Allowance.

This role requires the post holder to:

- To support allocated students on a one-to-one basis with the practical impact of their Mental Health/ Autistic Spectrum Condition on their academic experience
- To work closely and communicate effectively with the University’s Wellbeing team to support liaison with academic staff and university services.
- To deliver focused interventions to help students manage their mental health/autism, allowing students to engage in their learning including independent study
- To have knowledge and appreciation of the range of activities, courses, opportunities, organisations and individuals that could be drawn upon to provide additional support for students and encourage independence/
- Clearly document all assessments, actions and outcomes within existing recording systems.
- Adhere to the ethical framework of the Wellbeing team and individual professional code of conduct, participating in regular clinical supervision.
- Keep abreast of current research and practice in the field of autism and share best practice.
- Co-operate with quality assurance procedures as part of the requirements under Disabled Students Allowance
