Role: Occupational Therapist
Salary: £28.40 per hour (umbrella of your choice)
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Job Type: 8 month locum contract with a view to extend.
Shifts: To start as soon as possible. Working Monday - Friday. Full time hours preference but may consider part time.
About the Role:
HCRG Staffing are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT) to work in Birmingham for a local authority / adult social care team in the West Midlands. To cover maternity leave until end of July 2026 with a view to extend. Hybrid working available.
The successful Occupational Therapist will be based in their area team, completing Home visits to citizens properties, assessing for equipment, minor and major adaptations. Beneficial to have manual handling experience and experience working in physical health
Hybrid working: Working from home available and office space available in 2 clinics in Birmingham (whichever works best).
Excellent pay rate of £28.40 per hour (umbrella of your choice)
Key responsibilities include:
The Occupational Therapy service is responsible for assessing statutory needs; determining what is necessary and appropriate in line with the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996, for the implementation of the Disabled Facilities Grant. The Occupational Therapy service also complete statutory assessments for citizens in Prison and Approved Premises. Further to this the Occupational Therapy service assess individuals functional ability and make recommendations to increase independence, assess Discretionary Blue Badge's, complete Housing Options assessments, complete Enhanced Assessment Bed Assessments, assess manual handling needs, support implementation of single handed care, support to determine appropriate care packages, support Continuing Healthcare applications, create support plans and ensure that vulnerable adults in Birmingham are receiving the essential services required, in line with the Care Act 2014.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Licenses: HCPC registered
- Experience: 2 years experience.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compassion and patience when working with vulnerable individuals. Ability to use own initiative to provide information and support to other staff
