Horticulture Tutors
Ystradgynlais, South Powys
Pay rate: £32 per hour (including holiday pay)
6 hours per week (term time only)

We have a fantastic opportunity for highly skilled, qualified tutors to deliver Horticulture courses to learners in the Ystradgynlais area of South Powys, bordering Neath Port Talbot. You will plan, develop, deliver, evaluate and assess courses and learning programmes in accordance with learner needs and Adult Learning Wales’s Quality Procedures, in support of delivering high quality learning.
The Tutor role is a diverse, hands on role where you will be working independently and also with the regional team.
You will have responsibility for (but not exhaustive to):
• Planning and preparing courses – preparing lesson plans and schemes of work. Selecting learning materials and a range of learning methods to meet the learner’s needs.
• Supporting learners – Assessing learners’ previous learning experiences and achievements, providing them with appropriate advice and guidance, and ensuring learners are aware of their progression routes.
• General – undertake administrative tasks in line with regulations for the funding of Adult Learning Wales. Attend relevant tutor meetings, quality briefings and relevant accreditation / moderation meetings.

Interviews to be held in the new year.
As part of the interview process you will be asked to deliver a 15 minute microteach session, and to provide a lesson plan, scheme of work, and any resources for this session.
