Crynodeb
The postholder will work as anApproved Clinician (AC)and supervise service-users in the community who are subject toCommunity Treatment Orders (CTOs)or have beenconditionally discharged. They will also act asSupervising Consultantfor service-users not under any legal framework and serve as aConsultant Practitionerin their core discipline, undertaking relevant duties as required by the service.
This role requires aregistered mental health nursewith extensive experience working with detained patients, capable of managing, leading, and motivating multi-disciplinary acute inpatient teams. The postholder will set the direction for therapeutic assessment, treatment, and strategies for all patients under their care.
• Act asResponsible Clinician (RC)for a complex caseload of service-users.
• Provideevidence-based treatment pathwaysfor mental health, personality disorders, offending behaviours, and learning disabilities.
• Leadformulation, diagnosis, and treatment planningusing multi-disciplinary expertise.
• Deliverstatutory reportsand present evidence attribunals and hearings.
• Provideclinical leadershipacross disciplines including nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, and psychiatry.
• Ensureclinical supervisionand support for team members.
• Lead onrisk assessment and management, including specialist tools.
• Promoteequitable and accessible servicesfor diverse communities.
• Contribute topolicy development,service improvement, andstrategic planning.
• Supporttraining, supervision, and developmentof staff and trainee ACs.
• Maintainhigh standards of clinical record keepingandinformation governance.
• Lead and participate inresearch, audit, and service evaluation.
