We’re looking for compassionate, reliable Personal Assistants to support a warm and friendly 64-year-old lady living with schizo-affective disorder and bipolar disorder. You’ll be providing personalised, empowering support that helps her stay safe, well, and as independent as possible. From everyday living tasks to emotional encouragement and meaningful activities, you’ll be a key part of her wellbeing and daily routine.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Living Support
• Support with planning and maintaining daily routines
• Assistance with personal care tasks (if required).
• Support with household tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
• Support with shopping and managing household supplies
• Encouraging healthy living, including regular meals, hydration, and physical activity.
2. Mental Health Support
• Provide calm, consistent, and reassuring support when the individual experiences symptoms
• Monitor wellbeing and changes in mood or behaviour
• Encourage use of coping strategies and self-care techniques
• Dispensing medication, record-keeping and attending appointments
3. Community & Social Support
• Support the person to access community activities
• Encourage social inclusion
• Accompany the individual on walks, activities, hobbies, or social visits
4. Communication & Relationship Building
• Build a trusting, professional, and supportive relationship with the individual
• Communicate clearly, respectfully, and patiently
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy at all times
5. Safety & Risk Awareness
• Be aware of potential mental-health–related triggers or early warning signs
• Follow the individual’s care plan and crisis plan (if applicable)
• Promote a safe, stable, and supportive environment
• Report any concerns appropriately to the service user and designated contact
6. Administrative Support
• Assist with planning and attending appointments and making transport arrangements where necessary
