TA2 with SEN allowance 12 month fixed term
Salary Grade D point 6-11 Actual £19,547-£21,167 + SEN Allowance
Hours: 32.5hours per week Term time + 5 days
The Headteacher and Governors of Pikes Lane Primary School are seeking to appoint a highly effective 1:1 SEN TA for pupils with SEMH needs.
The responsibilities include;
To aid the pupil to learn as effectively as possible, both in group situations and on their own by, for example:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Building positive, trusting relationships to promote emotional regulation and a sense of safety.
- Implementing behaviour-management and de-escalation strategies to support pupils effectively.
- Adapting learning activities and resources to meet individual SEMH needs.
- Supporting pupils in following personalised plans such as EHCPs, or behaviour plans.
- Monitoring engagement, progress, and behaviour, feeding back key information to the class teacher and SENCO.
- Promoting inclusion by helping create a structured, calm, and supportive classroom environment.
- Encouraging the development of social skills, resilience, self-esteem, and emotional awareness.
- Supporting restorative conversations and reflection following behaviour incidents.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff, and external agencies.
- Maintaining clear, accurate records of interventions, behaviour incidents, and pupil progress.
- Following safeguarding procedures and support pupils’ wellbeing at all times.
- Participating in relevant SEND and behaviour-management training to enhance practice.
- Maintain positive, professional communication with parents and carers to support pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing.
Successful candidates will;
- Have paid experience working with primary age children
- Have excellent interpersonal skills
- Be flexible and work well as part of a team
- Have some experience of working with children with additional needs
