Summary

Are you ready to take the next big step in your career? We are looking for a Part-time (0.8) Placement Officer to join our passionate, dynamic and friendly team of Health, Health and Social Care, Education and Childcare professionals based at our Wycombe Campus.

In your role as a Placement Officer, you will work with students in the Health and Life Sciences department, preparing them for work placements, sourcing suitable opportunities, completing DBS requirements, ensuring placements are safe and appropriate, and visiting students to check on their progress.

This is a varied role that requires flexibility, excellent organisational and communication skills, and a passion for working with young people to inspire them to progress onto further study or careers in the Health, Social Care, Education, and Childcare sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess childcare learners' progress in the workplace and write up observation and visit reports.
  • Arrange work placements for health and social care learners and monitor progress
  • Liaise with and support lecturers in delivering practical training and preparing students for work placements in a variety of health, health and social care, education, and childcare settings.
  • Source and coordinate suitable work placements, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
  • Complete and manage DBS paperwork and compliance.
  • Keep accurate records of placement locations, health and safety checks, assessment and support visits, and student attendance.
  • Monitor student development in the workplace, ensuring regular reviews of progress and achievement.
  • Support curriculum staff by liaising on work experience placement issues and working to resolve them.

Preferred Experience & Support:

  • Experience in early years or childcare settings is preferred.
  • Support will be provided to achieve an assessing qualification if not already held.
