A Vacancy at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.


We are looking for Senior Clinical Fellow to join an existing dynamic Acute Medicine team across both hospital sites. The Acute Medical team is continuously expanding with a wonderful vision of excellent patient care, quick turnover, improving patient flow as well as amazing training facility for our trainees and junior doctors.



The Acute Medical team are looking to recruit Senior Clinical Fellows to work across all our assessment units including SDEC unit and take part in the on call rota, to deliver a 7-day service and this recruitment is part of the recent vacancy and expansion of our service.



Following a trust and local induction the successful candidate will be offered a shadowing period. We can support candidates who are looking to go into a HEE training programme.



In return we are looking for candidates who have:

• Full registration with the General Medical Council

• Full MRCP Significant experience in Acute Medicine

• Up to date Advanced Life Support (ALS)

• Up Experience in Acute Medicine



The Acute Medicine team at Barking, Havering and Redbridge Hospitals Trust (BHRUT) spans across both Queen’s and King George Hospital. Each site has a separate Medical Receiving unit (MRU); Queen’s Hospital has a 30 bedded unit whilst King George Hospital MRU supports SDEC. The units receive patients directly from the Emergency Department (ED) via medical on call.

The post holder will join our dynamic acute assessment team across both sites. The Acute medical team is continuously expanding with a wonderful vision of excellent patient care, quick turnover, improving patient flow as well as amazing training facility for our trainees and junior doctors. Acute Medicine team are looking to recruit Senior Clinical Fellows; all posts are as part of the recent vacancy and expansion of our services.

After successful recruitment the postholder will have an extensive induction by the Trust and Department and a period of shadowing to understand the activities of the department as well as our hospitals. An electronic induction pack will be supplied prior to formal induction. Post holder will be encouraged to complete online mandatory training after successful recruitment.

We run aWomen’s Health Hub in Ilford; anAgeing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) atBarking Community Hospital and atSt George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
