Weekend nursery worker -
Darby Nursery Stock, family run business based in Methwold, Norfolk.
The whole business is focused on producing a premium plant which will flourish in a UK garden.
The nursery is split over two sites, with a mix of protected and outside growing areas.
We offer a comprehensive range across six main product categories – Shrubs, Perennials, Clematis, Climbers, Trees and Soft Fruit – all grown slowly and ‘tough’ at our all-weather sites in Norfolk to ensure they are unforced and hardy.
Job description:
The nursery has the opportunity to have a nursery worker join the weekend team.
The role will see the candidate involved in working as part of a small team and lone working.
The role is hands-on, outdoors and physical, due to the nature of the business there may be time when work is still required outside so you'll be ready to work in all weathers.
The main responsibility is to irrigate the plant, however other tasks would include; general plant husbandry such as pruning, spacing and weeding.
The candidate will be working across both of the sites.
Experience:
Experience is not essential as the candidate will be given training on all tasks.
However, ideal candidate will have already worked on a commercial production nursery.
Working hours:
Saturday, Sunday and Bank holidays: 7am – 11am
March until September, this will also include bank holidays during this period.
