Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Nursery Worker to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for production horticulture and enjoyment from supporting the growth and upkeep of wide range of plants.
This role involves working outdoors, engaging in various tasks related to production horticulture including; irrigation, moving, potting, pruning, selecting plants for orders, spacing and other various general nursery tasks.
Duties
• Assist in the day to day maintenance and care of plants.
• Selecting plants for customer orders.
• Participate in the irrigation of plants to ensure proper growth and health.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks, including weeding, pruning, and potting.
• Use of hand tools safely and effectively for various production tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and maintain high standards of work.
• Monitor plant health and report any issues or concerns to supervisors.
Skills
• Experience or knowledge in production horticulture is preferred.
• Ability to use hand tools safely.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
• Good physical stamina, as the role involves manual labour outdoors.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the role, adapting to new tasks as required
Candidates without plant experience will be considered. Full training will be given.
Schedule:
• Work hours of 7:30am and 4pm.
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime available after 39 hours
Licence/Certification:
• Driving Licence (required)
