Combustion Engineer - Manchester


A leading FM and Minatenace company in the North West is seeking a skilled Combustion Engineer. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work on critical heating and hot-water systems while ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.Projects include offices, shopping centres, schools etc.

As the Combustion Engineer, you will:

  • Deliver first-line reactive support to critical heating and hot-water plant, including gas pipework-occasionally outside normal working hours.
  • Safely enable and reset critical plant following power outages.
  • Ensure all company-issued tools are PAT-tested and fully compliant with regulations.
  • Support local financial control across reactive and essential repairs to maintain project efficiency.
  • Build strong, productive relationships with colleagues and clients to ensure exceptional service delivery.

About You

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • A valid ACS certification covering core safety and gas appliances, plus experience in a similar engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC and gas equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective interaction.
  • Proven experience completing risk assessments and method statements accurately.
  • A proactive approach to improving plant performance, service quality, and compliance with health and safety standards.
