Abertay is a modern university with a global outlook, rooted in its local and national communities. We have made our mark with high quality, well-directed teaching and research, and a stimulating and enriching experience for our students.
The Finance, Infrastructure and Corporate Services directorate brings together the following functions: Finance, Procurement, IT and Corporate Information Systems, Estates development and sustainability, Facilities Management and Commercial Services.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our growing Financial & Management Accounts team.
This is an additional new role which has been created to help strengthen the team with a view to meeting the increasing support requirements for the University’s financial reporting and business partnering services.
The successful candidate for this role will work closely with our current Assistant Accountant who was successfully appointed recently. Both accountants will work closely together providing workload cover and the opportunity to work on ad-hoc system improvement projects with an overall aim of improving all aspects of financial processes and reporting.
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Finance you will support the Finance team in all areas of Finance, including financial statutory, systems and management accounting.
The role requires an individual who will bring their financial knowledge and professional attitude to join a busy Finance team. Working for a smaller University will then give a breadth of experience not available at a larger University/organisation where roles are more narrowly specialised.
Please note, the successful applicant will be required to reside and work from the UK. If you have any questions regarding your right to work in the UK or eligibility for visa sponsorship, please contact peopleservices@abertay.ac.uk.
If you believe you have the skills and experience for this exciting and challenging role, please submit your application through our online recruitment system, which can be found at https://www.abertay.ac.uk/discover/work-here/jobs/
