Job Title: Support worker/Personal Assistant

Hours per week: Up to 15 hours a week with occasional sleeps. Days and hours will be agreed mutually in advance, and can be discussed further at interview. Additional hours may be available to cover any sickness or annual leave.
Location: Llanrwst, Conwy
Rate of pay: £15 per hour
About me:
We are recruiting a male support worker to support my adult son. The role is to assist with social activities and integration. This position is located in Llanrwst but flexibility is required when attending social activities.
The employer will be provided with a personal positive behaviour plan created by a psychiatric nurse for the Personal Assistant to follow the plan as much as possible. Shadowing and training can be completed to support the successful applicant.
Task and duties, to include any or all the following:
• To accompany the young man on social outings and activities e.g., swimming, going to the shops. Will need to provide supervision and encouragement to promote positive interaction.
• To provide encouragement and support in relation to any of my other interests and hobbies.
• To encourage the young man to behave in a positive manner and to be considerate to others.
• To support him with personal care on occasion
• To encourage self-development and feelings of social inclusion, and to try and raise his confidence and self-esteem.
• To be a positive role model to the young man.
• To ensure that due consideration is given to Health & Safety at all times.
• Any other duties to be discussed and mutually agreed.

Has a clean driving license and access to a vehicle, with class 1 business insurance.
Will promote and support confidence and independence.
Has a person-centered approach and a genuine interest in supporting people to achieve their goals.
Can follow instructions and will establish a professional standard of care, to be always maintained.
Will not use their personal mobile phone at work unless in an emergency.
Is trustworthy, kind, punctual and reliable.
Is patient and supportive with good listening skills and an ability to provide non-judgmental emotional support.
Maintains confidentiality and respects the privacy of the family, including the prohibited use of social media in relation to the job role.
Can work flexibly, adapting to the variable requirements of this role as required.

The role is dependent upon a DBS and 2 references.
