At YMCA Robin Hood, we provide supported accommodation for those who have found themselves homeless or at risk of homelessness by
providing safe, secure homes while they rebuild their lives. Working closely with our residents, our aim is to support them back
to independent living and into education or employment.
With our guidance, help and support, you will work closely with our residents to take those vital steps towards independence.
If you have the passion, empathy, drive and determination to support people to build independence, overcome their challenges, and
shape a brighter future, please read on!
As a Lead Tenancy Sustainment Worker within our Housing service, you will oversee tenancy sustainment activities across our
Worksop accommodation sites, ensuring high-quality support, strong outcomes, and alignment with our Core Values: Caring, Honesty,
Respect and Responsibility.
On a day-to-day basis, you can expect your role to include:
· Build and maintain strong multi-agency partnerships to ensure residents get the support they need to thrive.
· Positively support residents to develop life skills, maintain their tenancies and transition successfully into independent
living within two years.
· Lead and support the whole team by being involved with recruitment, training and promoting high performance and personal
development.
· Manage rotas and staffing levels to ensure continuity of service
About You:
This is a demanding but rewarding role which requires experience of supporting vulnerable/challenging people with a variety of
needs. Your communication skills will be your greatest strength.
Experience in Supported Housing or an understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals is valuable.
You will be promoting and empowering residents to live independently, offering guidance on essential services such as housing
benefits, personal budgets, and accessing the right resources.
Familiarity with welfare systems is beneficial, but a commitment to learning and staying informed is equally important.
You must be proactive and passionate about supporting people and share our belief that everyone should have a fair chance to
discover who they are and what they can become.
You must understand the needs of homeless people and the services available to them.
You must be confident in lone-working and managing your own schedule, as well as working with your team to achieve results.
Ideally, you will have a full clean driving license and access to own transport as visits, sometimes at short notice, to the
shared accommodation properties will be required.
This is primarily a Monday-Friday role, but occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend shifts may be required to support the
team.
Why You’ll Love This Role?
Impactful Work: Be part of meaningful changes in people’s lives every day.
Career Growth: Develop your understanding and gain qualifications and experience in housing support and working with vulnerable
people and/or people experiencing homelessness.
Supportive Environment: Work within a dedicated team that values collaboration, continuous learning, and compassion.
This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (paid for by YMCA) and registration with the DBS Update Service. We
reserve the right to withdraw this role before the closing date should we be able to appoint to the role.
