Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician. The role involves delivering high-quality electrical installation, maintenance, testing, and repair services across residential properties. This position supports the council’s commitment to maintaining safe, compliant, and well-managed housing stock.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out electrical installations, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance within council housing.

Perform periodic testing, inspection, and certification in line with UK electrical standards.

Diagnose and rectify electrical faults promptly and efficiently.

Ensure all work meets current IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).

Maintain accurate job records, reports, and compliance documentation.

Work safely and follow Health & Safety policies at all times.

Travel between sites as required (driving licence required).

Provide excellent customer service while working in occupied and unoccupied properties.

Required Skills
Skilled in electrical installation, maintenance, testing, fault diagnosis, and repairs; strong safety knowledge; excellent communication; ability to work independently; valid driving licence; experience in housing or domestic environments preferred.

Qualifications
Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).

18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).

City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection) preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering .

Working Hours
Monday–Thursday: 08:00–16:00

Friday: 08:00–15:30
