Summary
As a Home Care Health Support Worker, you will deliver high-quality personal care and support to individuals in their own homes, helping them maintain independence, dignity, and well-being. This role is essential in supporting service users with daily tasks, companionship, and health-related routines, in line with personalised care plans and CQC standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Support clients with personal care: washing, dressing, toileting, and continence care.
Assist with mobility and transfers, including use of hoists and mobility aids (where trained).
Prepare and assist with meals and hydration, following any dietary requirements.
Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation and promote well-being.
Prompt and record medication intake as directed by the care plan and company policy.
Carry out light domestic tasks to maintain a safe, clean environment.
Observe and report changes in health or behaviour to senior staff or healthcare professionals.
Complete accurate, timely care records in line with GDPR and safeguarding policies.
Respect clients’ privacy, dignity, and cultural preferences at all times.
Adhere to CQC regulations, infection prevention and control practices, and health and safety standards.
Requirements:
Right to work in the UK.
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work toward it).
Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) required.
Good written and spoken English.
Ability to work independently and with professionalism in clients’ homes.
Reliability, compassion, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Experience in domiciliary or residential care (desirable but not essential).
Additional Information:
Travel between client homes may be required
Shift work may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Training, PPE, and ongoing supervision will be provided.
