30hours - Maternity Cover until November 2026
Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Female Support Workers to join our incredible team in Jarrow, South Tyneside (NE32). We are looking to hire a Female 30hr Support Worker based in one of our Mencap services in Jarrow to cover maternity leave until November 2026. Although this is a maternity cover position, there may be a possibility for your contract with Mencap to be extended in November 2026 as there may be availability to work in another service.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
We support two lovely ladies in this service, both ladies love getting out and about in the community, one loves music and dancing, the other loves drawing and collecting pens and note books. Both ladies love a shopping trip, visits to the cinema and day trips out to new places. Due to the nature of the service this vacancy is for female only applicants.
What we're looking for:
· A genuine passion for supporting others.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
· Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract options:
· Part-time: 30hrs
Shift times:
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.
*All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
