What skills and experience we're looking for

Term time only (39 wks per year)

Hours: 36 hours per week

Initially on a fixed term contract

Salary: based on grade PS7 (Actual £28,864–30,766 - FTE £33,552-35,763)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Designated Safeguarding & Behaviour Lead (DSL) to join our team, taking a key role in ensuring the safety and welfare of our pupils. You will lead on all aspects of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring that policies are effectively implemented and staff are trained and confident in their responsibilities, in collaboration with families and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee safeguarding and child protection across the school.
• Maintain accurate records and provide updates to senior staff as needed.
• Offer guidance, support and training to staff on safeguarding matters.
• Work with families and external partners to promote pupil wellbeing and engagement
• Promote high standards of behaviour and consistently implement the school’s behaviour policy

Key Requirements:

• Safeguarding training to DSL Level 3 (or willingness to complete on appointment).
• Significant experience of working with children or young people in a safeguarding, support or pastoral capacity.
• Ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
• Competent IT skills for reporting, recording and communication.
• Experience working with multi-agency teams to safeguard and support families.
