The Role
We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate experienced Social Workers and an Advanced Practitioners to join the Safeguarding Team.
The salary for Senior Social Workers and Advanced Practitioners is £41,771 to £46,142 (Grade I)
Our Safeguarding Service supports children and families who require a longer-term social worker, including those children supported under Child in Need, subject to Child Protection plans and subject to the Public Law Outline, including those children within care proceedings, and where their final care plan may be one of adoption.
The Advanced Practitioner is an experienced Social Worker with at least 3 years’ experience within a childrens social work setting. For the Advanced Practitioner role, the post holder will be an experienced Social Worker & would be expected to work with a complex caseload, chairing meetings and completing assessments to a high standard. They will be confident in managing complex cases and help the managers in improving practice across the service. The Advanced Practitioner would be expected to mentor social workers in their assisted & supported year in employment (ASYE) and is an excellent step towards a career in management or for those who want to have more responsibility but stay in practice.
Experienced Social Workers (Senior Social Workers) are expected to demonstrate expert and effective practice in complex situations, assessing and managing high levels of risk, striking a balance between support and control, liaising with a wide range of professionals, including more senior levels. They manage complex caseloads and offer expert opinion within the organisation and to others. They chair a range of meetings and offer expert support to case conferences or Looked After Children’s Review Meetings. They will model good practice, thus setting expectations for others, and support and mentor others with their practice.
