We are looking for a creative, innovative and enthusiastic candidate who is flexible, willing to grow with us and always puts our children’s needs first.Job Description:The Headteacher and Governing Body of Llangan Primary School are looking to appoint an experienced LSA to work in a Foundation Phase class. We are looking for a dedicated, flexible and enthusiastic person to join our school family.Job Purpose:A Level 3 Teaching Assistant will work under the guidance of teaching staff to plan, deliver and evaluate learning activities, support pupils with a range of needs (including ALN), and contribute strategically to raising standards across the school. They will promote independence, ensure high-quality learning experiences, and play an active role in the wider life of the school.
Job Duties:Support for pupils
• Deliver planned learning activities to individuals and groups, adjusting teaching approaches where necessary.• Use specialist skills, strategies or equipment to support pupils with ALN or more complex needs.• Promote pupils’ independence, resilience and positive attitudes to learning.• Provide targeted intervention in literacy, numeracy or specific learning programmes.• Support pupils’ emotional, social and behavioural development through consistent guidance.• Model high expectations of behaviour, communication and learning.• Monitor and record pupils’ responses to learning activities, adapting support based on progress.• Contribute to reviews of individual education plans, support plans or ALN provision.
Support for the teacher
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant will:• Contribute to planning, preparation and evaluation of learning activities.• Provide feedback to teachers on pupils’ progress, identifying next steps and barriers to learning.• Lead small group learning independently with responsibility for behaviour management.• Use ICT and digital tools confidently to support and enhance learning.• Take responsibility for preparing, organising and maintaining learning resources.• Assist with whole-class management and routines.
• Contribute to assessing and recording pupils’ progress as directed.• Supervise and, where appropriate, cover classes in short-term teacher absence (non-teaching activities).
Support for the school
• Establish positive, professional relationships with parents, carers and external agencies.• Contribute to the school’s safeguarding culture, following all child protection and health and safety procedures.• Support the implementation of whole-school policies, behaviour systems, and curriculum initiatives.• Contribute to the development of whole-school displays, learning environments and thematic projects.• Participate in professional learning opportunities, developing specialist skills or areas of expertise.• Support smooth transition for pupils across phases and year groups.• Maintain confidentiality, professionalism and high expectations at all times.• Play an active role in the wider life of the school, including supervision and extracurricular support where required.
