We are now looking for an Aerospace Buyer on an 18 month fixed term contract to take on the following responsibilities:
- Supporting the Senior Buyer
- Performing routine day-to-day activities associated with the products and services administering and expediting purchase orders
- Managing MRP requirements to satisfy production schedules and implementation of appropriate recovery plans.
- Shortage reporting and resolution
- Receiving Bills of Materials and carrying out system checks on materials and services to be supplied to projects and shipping requirements.
- Negotiating with suppliers obtaining best price and lead times, resolving any supply chain issues
- Liaising with customers/ suppliers to respond to routine queries regarding contract and supply chain issues.
- Providing input to project meetings to answer questions concerning contract/supply chain matters.
- Monitoring and measuring process performance producing regular and accurate management information/reports as required.
- Adhering to a range of standard procedures and precedents to solve problems which arise, with instruction direction and guidance available from others
Please apply if you have most of the following:
- Ability to build supplier relationships and engage with suppliers
- Excellent communication skills with a good understanding of techniques that drive Quality/cost improvement
- Manufacturing procurement experience (including reading technical drawings, engineering background preferred)
- Experience with Supplier KPI's and performance management
- Ability to draft standard letters and responses.
- Proficient use of MS applications with good understanding of MRP and other planning systems
- Good verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
- 'Lateral' thinker - someone who can find solutions for problems and 'think outside the box'
