Long Term Futures is seeking a warm, proactive, and engaging KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Haringey. This role is ideal for someone looking to build strong classroom experience in Key Stage 2 while also supporting pupils with mild additional needs. It offers a balanced mix of general class support, group work, and occasional 1:1 guidance-perfect for candidates wanting to grow, develop, and make a genuine impact across the year group.
About the Role
Working closely with the class teacher and phase lead, you will help create a purposeful and enjoyable learning environment for pupils across KS2. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the class during whole-class teaching, group tasks and independent learning
- Delivering small-group interventions in reading, writing, maths and core skills
- Providing light-touch SEN support for pupils with mild learning, social or communication need
- Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and resilience during lessons and play
- Preparing resources, supporting routines and helping maintain a well-organised classroom
- Assisting pupils with social interaction and emotional regulation when needed
Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting KS2 pupils, or a strong desire to gain experience in upper primary
- Confident, adaptable and enthusiastic about helping children learn and progress
- Strong communication skills and able to build positive relationships quickly
- Reliable, proactive and able to work collaboratively with the teaching team
- Passionate about education and supporting pupils of all abilities
