We are delighted to be supporting an Outstanding special school in North London that provides exceptional care and education for pupils with PMLD, complex physical disabilities, sensory needs, and significant medical needs. The school offers a nurturing, well-resourced environment, supported by a strong multidisciplinary team including therapists, medical staff, and specialist practitioners, all working together to deliver a holistic, child-centred approach.
We are looking for a compassionate, proactive PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a small class of pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities. In this role, you will support sensory-led learning activities, assist with communication methods such as AAC and objects of reference, and help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where pupils feel understood and valued.
The role also includes elements of personal care, positioning, physical support, and assisting with therapy programmes designed by physiotherapists and occupational therapists. You will be supported by an experienced class teacher and work alongside a team who value patience, creativity, and relationship-focused practice.
This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity for someone who is calm, empathetic, and passionate about helping pupils with complex needs make meaningful progress and enjoy positive school experiences.
