About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter / Technician to join a dynamic team maintaining and servicing modern rolling stock. This is a hands-on, high-level technical role with a strong electrical bias, requiring advanced diagnostic skills and leadership capability.
You'll play a key part in ensuring the reliability and safety of cutting-edge rail assets, working in a fast-paced environment where precision and professionalism are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Expertise:
* Interpret electrical schematics and traction/rolling stock drawings.
* Perform complex fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems.
* Ensure compliance with operational specifications using engineering processes.
Maintenance & Reliability:
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities.
* Identify and rectify defects, propose corrective actions for repeat issues.
Operational Support:
* Respond to in-service failures and provide technical assistance.
* Maintain accurate records in SAP for all work completed.
What We're Looking For
* Electrically biased technician with proven experience in rolling stock or similar heavy engineering environments.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
* Strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance standards.
Essential Qualifications:
* HNC or served apprenticeship in electrical/mechanical engineering OR NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline.
Desirable:
* IT skills (Word, Excel), AC depot isolation competence, driving licence.
