Energy & Sustainability Administrator

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an organised and motivated individual to join our Sustainability Team as an Energy & Sustainability Administrator. This role supports the Trust’s commitment to delivering an ambitious sustainability and energy programme, helping us improve environmental performance across our hospitals and services.

The Sustainability Team provides strategic and operational guidance to colleagues throughout the organisation, promoting resource efficiency, reducing carbon emissions and ensuring compliance with key sustainability standards. A major part of this work involves monitoring the Trust’s utility usage — with power, heating and water costs totalling around £16 million annually — and identifying opportunities for cost and carbon savings.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Sustainability & Energy, you will provide essential administrative and operational support. This will include validating and processing energy and water invoices, supporting financial recharge processes, maintaining data records and assisting with performance reporting. You will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery and communication of sustainability initiatives and progress.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about sustainability and looking to develop their skills within a forward-thinking team making a meaningful difference to environmental outcomes and patient care.

Maintaining accurate records for electricity, gas, fuel, and water consumption across MSEFT’s estate

Gathering metering information to provide accurate asset records, and invoicing

Conducting small-scale projects to deliver improvements in key performance indicators that can be implemented across MSEFT’s estate

Working independently to carry out planned, and unplanned fieldwork or specialist investigative studies

Providing purchase justifications, obtaining quotes, raising purchase orders, and registering new suppliers

Querying invoice anomalies, obtaining credit notes, and account statements from suppliers

Reviewing, and processing of invoices for approval and payment on internal systems

Administering account updates, changes, and queries for energy, and water suppliers

Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well being of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.

We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so we can become the best we can be. As one organisation we will recruit the finest and retain more specialist staff due to more employment opportunities across our Trust.
