Our warehouse is fast-paced and is open 7 days a week. This role requires flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
Who are we?
St Andrew’s Hospice is a registered charity providing specialist palliative care for patients with life-limiting conditions which require complex symptom management, and/or end-of-life care. It is Lanarkshire's specialist hospice and provides multidisciplinary support for patients, their families and carers. The service is provided completely free of charge for the adult population of North and South Lanarkshire and is open to all without distinction of race, gender or creed.

What is the role?
St Andrews Hospice operates a network of 13 charity shops within North and South Lanarkshire as well as our Shopping Outlet/Warehouse. The Warehouse Assistant plays a vital role in our charity retail supply chain process. The post holder will oversee the safe receipt, storage retrieval and sorting of a wide range of goods including;
Branded goods, purchase for resale goods, donated goods, furniture and bric a brac, vintage items for recycling and upcycling, various craft items donated by craft workers.
The post holder will be at the heart of our retail operation by sorting, checking and making the most out of the variety of donations received.
The Warehouse Assistant role can be physically demanding due to the moving of goods in a fast paced environment.
What we expect of you?
• Handling and moving the delivery of furniture, appliances & clothes donations that arrive in our warehouse for re-sale
• Sorting, pricing and storing donations received
• Ensuring the shop floor & our network of shops are always well stocked
• Working in line with safety regulations and promoting health, safety and wellbeing in everything you do
• Keeping the warehouse organised and tidy
• Providing a high level of customer service and donor care
