DRIVER – Very handy for social shifts, but not always essential | Not required for the 10am-12pm shifts
HOURS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE TO CHOSE FROM:
FIXED:
Saturday and Sunday:
10am-12pm >Personal care/food prep/home chores etc
The fixed shifts involve various repetitive daily tasks, which will be carried out at the advice of the myself. You will be required to multi task at times, with patience, and a sense of humour is helpful.
FLEXIBLE:
1-2 shifts p/w | 3hrs PLUS each shift | To be agreed between us | mostly afternoons/evenings or occasionally at night (Not throughout the whole night)
1-2 shifts p/month | 3-4hrs each shift | batch cooking
There will be more shifts available on occasion, depending on your availability/my needs
The flexible shifts may include regular shifts for regular things, like a weekly group etc, though can also be quite varied, as like my interests. We’ll talk in advance to see what aspects you’re able to assist with prior, though someone who’s open to a variety of activities and getting stuck into projects with me, is welcome.
Aside from the fixed shifts, this is a flexible contract whereby I will need flexibility from my carer, to cover some of the shifts at different times each week, such as the social shifts and batch cooking. There will be some continuity here too, so some shifts may be on similar days/times each week, as to enable me to book social activities, appointments, social gatherings etc. As the times of these things will vary, I have to work around these and need care that can too. But these will be arranged in advance as far as possible, and I will do my best to work around your preferred availability too, where possible.
If you have particular days/times you are available for the flexible shifts, please make these clear when applying, and we can consider the options?
POSITION:
Private care assistant in employers home (Employed directly, not through a company). I'm a Direct Payments account holder with adult social services which I manage, and s/services handle wages and pay you directly themselves.
I manage my own carers and am therefore the employer (For employees) or client (For self employed carers), so you are only required to have involvement with myself.
The position includes personal care, cooking from scratch, home chores, social/hobbies and anything life entails. Essentially, anything you do for yourself, you may well assist me with at some point, where possible. The assistance will often be physical, being my ‘able body’, mental and cognitive, helping me navigate decisions etc, when I’m fatigued/exhausted, and some emotional support at times, when things become overwhelming.
Working with myself, a woman in my 40s, in my home to assist with all aspects of personal care, cooking and meal prep from scratch, cleaning, home chores, social and anything else that life throws my way, at other locations, to be discussed. Anything you do for yourself, you’ll help me with, though my abilities vary at that time.
You’ll be working with me and my routines, often dovetailing and working on your own initiative, to efficiently fulfil tasks and help provide me with a quality of living.
This position will require you to learn the ropes as required, be responsible for fulfilling what’s needed, and thinking on my behalf to prepare future items, ensuring my safety and well being, when I’m fatigued/exhausted.
TRAINING:
There are mini online training courses to complete during your initial trial period, of around 7-8hrs, in addition to your regular weekly hours. You can undertake these at home when it’s convenient for you, and will be paid for this additional time.
RATE:
Employed persons: £15 p/h and holiday pay 5.6 weeks p/annum
Self employed persons: Open to negotiation p/h (All paperwork and insurances required, some assistance may be provided, ask when applying)
DBS mandatory, at employers expense
I cannot offer cash in hand, as social services pay you directly.
HOW TO APPLY:
Watch this video and let me know which hours that I have available, fit for you? Please include your CV, it will be needed prior to the video interview.
