At Cheshire East Council, we have a dedicated Court Team, and we are looking for high-calibre, experienced Social Workers to join us on our journey in achieving excellent outcomes for our children through timely and effective care proceedings.
The team is busy and fast-paced, and this role will suit those with experience in court work or statutory child protection services. The position requires strong organisational skills, the ability to work autonomously under pressure, and a commitment to delivering high-quality practice.

About the role:
• Work within the Court Team to deliver outstanding practice in care proceedings and achieve permanence for children.
• Prepare high-quality, evidence-based reports and statements for court hearings.
• Undertake direct work with children and families, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making.
• Collaborate with legal professionals, social care colleagues, and partner agencies to ensure robust care planning.
• Manage complex cases with professionalism and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
• Benefit from reflective supervision, manageable caseloads, and ongoing training and development opportunities.

About you:
• You’ll be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• You’ll have experience in child protection and care proceedings, with strong knowledge of relevant legislation.
• You’ll demonstrate excellent analytical and report-writing skills, with the ability to present clear, evidence-based recommendations.
• You’ll be confident in working under pressure and managing competing priorities effectively.
• You’ll be compassionate, organised, and driven to achieve positive outcomes for children.
• You’ll have the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals.
