A key part of this role will be to drive the implementation of the Waste Strategy which looks to see a step-change in Orkney’s ability to collect and process recyclable materials and act as an enabler for the development of circular economy opportunities in the County. Excellent communication and facilitation skills, together with a sound, practical knowledge of waste and recycling legislation will be a requirement, in addition to significant relevant management experience and a proven ability to lead and manage complex change projects.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to make a real difference to communities across Orkney and represents a significant chance to grow your career within one of the most geographically diverse local authority areas in Scotland.
The minimum knowledge required for this role can be evidenced by either holding a qualification at SCQF 8/9 i.e. SVQ4, HND, General Degree, Higher Apprenticeship, Technical Apprenticeship, or having a minimum of 5 years previous relevant experience, as detailed in the experience section of this person specification.
