Your new company
Hays Procurement and Supply Chain are recruiting on behalf of a well-established public sector organisation based in CO. Armagh to appoint 2x Assistant Procurement officers.
Your new role
Reporting to the Procurement Officer you will be responsible for:
- Purchasing goods and services in accordance with company procedures to achieve value for money
- Liaising with and providing assistance to customers on procurement matters
- Operating a PC and computer systems to facilitate the delivery of a procurement service
- Resolving invoice queries in conjunction with company shared services to ensure prompt payment of suppliers.
- Responding to queries from suppliers
- Liaising with PaLS colleagues in all PaLS sites on procurement related matters, including the participation in groups (if required)
- Any other duties as required within the Band of the post.
What you'll need to succeed
- Essential Criteria Five GCSE's, including GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths (Grades A* - C) OR equivalent qualifications to demonstrate literacy and numeracy OR Higher Qualification
- Experience in the use of Windows-based software, ie Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Ability to meet high standards of quality and professionalism.
- Ability to maintain and continuously improve customer service.
- Ability to communicate effectively to meet the needs of the post in full.
- Ability to use own initiative and work independently or as part of a team.
- Awareness of public procurement legislation
