Are you looking for a great challenge, with fabulous young people who deserve the greatest care and support?
Woodeaton Manor School specialises in the education of pupils aged 11 to 16 with a range of SEND challenges, all of whom have an Education Health and Care Plan. Pupils within the school have a range of learning needs, many of whom have a diagnosis of ASC and associated needs. The school strives for high standards of teaching and learning and is committed to ensuring that all pupils achieve their full potential.
We are looking for a highly effective creative and inspirational classroom practitioner. The successful candidate will be a highly skilled teacher of SEND, ideally with successful experience of teaching in either primary or secondary curriculum. We would welcome applicants from a primary or secondary background, who are willing to teach inclusive lessons across the curriculum (potentially including in your specialist area for subject specialist teachers).
You will be a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated practitioner to ensure our students develop and reach their full potential.
What we Offer
Competitive salary + SEN allowance
Fully funded CPD, mentoring & coaching
A trust-wide commitment to wellbeing, including paid wellbeing days, generous PPA time, and free on-site parking
Flexible working options (part-time or job share considered)
Access to an employee assistance programme
Teachers’ Pension Scheme
Employee referral scheme (earn up to £500 for successful referrals)
A strong safeguarding and therapeutic culture
About the Role
Plan and deliver engaging, subject specific lessons to a wider group of pupils across the school
Use assessment effectively to inform teaching, interventions and personalised progress
Promote a safe, nurturing environment that supports wellbeing and independence
Work closely with therapists, support staff and families to provide holistic support
Contribute to whole-school development and our inclusive, forward-thinking ethos
Engage in professional learning and share best practice across the school
Willing to take responsibility for a class group as a Class Tutor
Model high-quality behaviour support and emotional regulation strategies
Build trusting, positive relationships with pupils to help them feel safe, valued and motivated
About You
Qualified teacher status (QTS) with previous teaching experience in either primary or secondary schools.
Experience in an SEN setting, especially of working with children with complex needs including autism and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH)
Knowledge of current SEN legislation, assessment and best practice
Creative, adaptable and committed to meeting diverse learning needs
A resilient, positive team player who builds strong relationships with pupils and families
A reflective practitioner with a growth mindset
