About the Role: MFL Teacher

This is a dynamic position focusing on teaching French and Spanish across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The role requires a dedicated professional to manage and deliver a stimulating curriculum, ensuring all students are engaged and challenged to achieve their full linguistic potential. The role is a full time position to start in January.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Ability to teach Spanish confidently at Key Stage 3 and ideally to KS4.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for French and Spanish at KS3 and KS4.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, using data to inform future planning.
  • Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND.
  • Promote a positive and secure learning environment with high expectations for behaviour.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of the MFL curriculum and resources.
  • Mark and provide constructive feedback on student work, both in class and for homework.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attainment, attendance, and pastoral concerns.
  • Collaborate effectively with MFL colleagues and the wider faculty team.
  • Uphold the school's safeguarding and welfare policies at all times.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to extra-curricular activities where appropriate.
