Academic Improvement Mentor for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths – Sessional (Part time – Fixed until June 2026)

Are you looking for a meaningful way to spend your time before university or starting your career, and passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and achieve their academic potential?

This entry-level opportunity is perfectly suited to candidates looking to build on recently completed qualifications such as A Levels, BTECs, or equivalent. We are particularly keen to hear from recent sixth form or college leavers who are ready to take the next step in their personal and professional development.

If you are friendly, motivated, and keen to share your knowledge and skills, we would love to welcome you to our team as an Academic Improvement Mentor, supporting students as they overcome challenges in their learning journey.

You don’t need years of experience—just enthusiasm, good communication skills, and a willingness to support others.

What you’ll do:

• Work one-to-one or in small groups with students who need extra help

• Support students in the classroom alongside teaching staff

• Help boost motivation, confidence, and study skills

• See first-hand how your input can help someone succeed

This role is ideal for anyone considering a career in teaching, youth work, psychology, or any role that involves people skills. You will gain valuable experience, develop your communication and problem-solving abilities, and have something impressive to include on your CV or university application.
