We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team at a residential school that caters for children who are hearing impaired and have learning disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by providing tailored care and communication support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality care and support to children with hearing impairments and learning disabilities in a residential setting.
Use British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 to communicate effectively with children and staff.
Assist with daily living activities, personal care, and educational support.
Promote independence, inclusion, and positive outcomes for each child.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
Maintain accurate records and adhere to safeguarding and health & safety policies.
Essential Requirements
BSL Level 2 qualification (mandatory).
Previous experience working in the care sector, ideally with children who have hearing impairments and learning disabilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable
Knowledge of SEN (Special Educational Needs) strategies.
Experience in residential school settings.
