Pay Rate: £1,350 per assessment (each assessment allocated for 2 days) - Inside IR35
A South East England Council are seeking an experienced Educational Psychologists to complete statutory psychological advice as part of the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process. The Local Authority is committed to reducing a significant backlog and providing intensive, high quality assessments for children, young people, families, and schools.
Assignments involve working closely with allocated settings until all assessments within that setting are completed. This offers EPs the opportunity to focus on a particular age group of interest (Early Years, Primary, Secondary, Post-16).
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete statutory psychological assessments and provide high quality written advice for EHCNAs.
- Deliver outcome-focused, child-centred reports using the councils EHCNA psychological advice template.
- Work closely with settings, families, and SEN Assessment Teams to inform decision making.
- Undertake assessments face to face.
- Maintain professional standards, accurate records, and uphold safeguarding responsibilities.
Essential Requirements:
- HCPC registered Educational Psychologist.
- Minimum 3 years' local authority experience (applications without this will not be considered).
- Ability to carry out assessments in person.
- Immediate availability for allocation.
- Strong assessment, formulation, and report writing skills.
- Enhanced DBS and full compliance checks.
Desirable:
- Experience working across Early Years, Primary, Secondary or Post-16.
- Ability to work intensively with one setting at a time.
- Familiarity with LA EHCNA processes.
