We are seeking an experienced Sensory Integration Occupational Therapist to join our team supporting children and young people with sensory processing difficulties. You will work closely with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to assess sensory needs, deliver targeted interventions, and support functional participation in daily activities.
The role involves conducting comprehensive sensory assessments, implementing evidence-based interventions, developing individualized therapy plans, and providing guidance and training to parents, carers, and educators. You will play a key role in promoting engagement, independence, and wellbeing through creative, client-centered therapy approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct sensory integration assessments and identify sensory processing challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy programs to support functional outcomes.
- Provide direct therapy sessions using sensory-rich interventions and activities.
- Educate and support families, carers, and school staff in strategies to manage sensory needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, social workers, and healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and document progress, adjusting interventions based on outcomes.
- Contribute to service development, training, and best practice initiatives.
Requirements:
- BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration (essential).
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with children and young people with SEND.
- Experience contributing to EHCPs in educational or clinical settings.
- Strong assessment, report-writing, and communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Professional indemnity & public liability insurance.
- Specialized training or certification in Sensory Integration (Ayres Sensory Integration®) preferred.
Additional Information:
- Enhanced DBS with Children and Adults Barred List required.
- Travel across London may be required to visit schools and clients.
- All safeguarding and compliance checks must be completed before starting.
