General Builder/Tradesperson

One year fixed term contract to start in early 2026

Clayesmore is seeking to recruit skilled and proactive General Builders / Tradespeople to join our friendly Estates Team. In this varied and hands-on role, you will help maintain our beautiful campus, support refurbishment projects, and ensure our campus remains safe, well-presented and fully operational for our pupils, staff and visitors.

Reporting to the Estate Supervisor, you will take responsibility for day-to-day maintenance tasks, repairs and small-scale project work across the school. No two days are the same —you may be painting and decorating, resolving plumbing issues, carrying out carpentry tasks, or assisting with electrical repairs (within competence and regulations). From time to time, you may also support maintenance needs at other schools within the group.

The successful candidates will be experienced all-round tradespeople with solid skills across carpentry, plumbing, masonry and general maintenance. You will hold City & Guilds (or equivalent) trade qualifications and have a strong understanding of health and safety practices. A problem-solver with a can-do attitude, you will be reliable, adaptable and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

If you are a versatile tradesperson who takes pride in high-quality work and would enjoy contributing to the smooth running of a vibrant school community, we would love to hear from you.

This role is all year round, 40 hours per week.
