Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.
We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
This role will be within our Transmission & Renewables team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.

What will you be doing?
As a Risk Manager you’ll work across all M Group contracts within the Great Grid Partnership (GGP) with National Grid. You’ll be instrumental in the embedding, evolution, facilitation and provision of expert support in the implementation of risk management practice, as well as providing analysis and assurance of risk registers.
Are you passionate about supporting the continuous improvement of the risk management process? You’ll work alongside the GGP integrator team and Risk Managers from other GGP Partner organisations to ensure a consistent approach.

- Be accountable for risk management performance within the Programme and Package risk registers
- Maintain package risk registers through risk reviews, risk workshops and health checking, working collaboratively with the project teams
- Ensure mitigations are SMART and are kept under review as to their effective and efficient performance to manage risk to required levels
- Undertake the risk management role and provide “critical” friend challenge delivery of the risk management process
- Provide support to the M Group GGP Enterprise Director, Project Managers, and Project teams
- Undertake the role of the Risk Information Management System administrator (using National Grid's ARM system), delivering M Group risk training for the risk process and use of ARM
- Responsible for the operational reporting of risks internally in M Group and externally to GGP.
- Support the delivery of QRA, which will typically be undertaken by the Integrator and/or National Grid.

What you’ll bring

- Experienced in leading the delivery of a structured approach to risk management within large, complex infrastructure or construction projects
- Proficient in QRA processes and its application on construction projects and possess a strong aptitude for schedule, Cost, Risk, Change management activities as well as Reporting
- Demonstrable experience in risk leadership, understands the need to adapt risk information to different audiences and can interact well with people across the organisation - able to build relationships internally within M Group and GGP
- Knowledge and experience of applying of risk management best practices, e.g.; ISO 31000
- Understand the risk contribution to the monthly reporting process
- Degree qualified or equivalent
- Formal Risk Management qualification (e.g. BA, MA, IRM Certificate / Diploma, APM Risk, or similar)
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IRM, ALARM, APM or similar)
- Full UK driving license
