What skills and experience we're looking for

1. To be a Keyholder (to open and lock school up when needed)

2. To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the area/sites allocated.

3. To be aware of the conditions associated with the cleaning of your allocated areas related to the school/site users and to work to the appropriate Health and Safety rules and processes.

4. To use the appropriate equipment, materials, tools and machinery to ensure the job is done effectively.

5. Cleaning duties will include cleaning, washing, sweeping, scrubbing, sanitising, shampooing, vacuum cleaning, polishing and dusting of designated areas as required by the School.

6. Specialist cleaning where requested by the School, i.e. carpet shampooing.

7. To report any damage/defects to the appropriate person.

8. To liaise with site staff, supervisors and line managers as required.

You need to be able to work as part of a hardworking team as well as using your own initiative. You will be required to work to pre-determined cleaning areas / standards under the direction/instruction of a caretaker to provide a clean and hygienic school/health care environment which meets specified cleaning standards. Any training required will be given and although relevant cleaning experience would be an advantage it is not essential.

Confidentiality is essential to these roles as cleaning areas will cover the school and offices.
