Occupational Therapist

Role: Occupational Therapist - community

Salary: £26-27 per hour (umbrella of your choice)

Location: Leicester, East Midlands

Job Type: 3 month locum contract with a view to extend. To start in January 2026.

Shifts: Monday - Friday full time hours ideal, but will consider 3 days a week minimum

About the Role:

HCRG Staffing are looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist (OT) to work in an Adult Community Mental Health Team for an NHS service in Leicester, East Midlands. The service would also consider an experienced band 5. Car driver essential as community work involved.

  • To work as a specialist clinician to utilise, develop and enhance Occupational Therapy clinical and professional skills within the Service to deliver high standards of practice.
  • To apply the Occupational Therapy process within a Multi-Disciplinary format providing specialist assessment and treatment in clinical care pathways.
  • To deliver a specialist Occupational Therapy Service to patients within a variety of settings,
  • requiring flexibility/adaptability in recognising the complexity of these environments to maximise their abilities and opportunities for occupational wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To be responsible for own practice and accountable for all aspects of the Occupational Therapy (OT) process (info gathering, assessment, treatment planning, intervention, evaluation and discharge planning) as appropriate to patient needs.
  • To work effectively with members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team and other related agencies to ensure a needs-led service is maintained.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Licenses: HCPC registered
  • Experience: 2 years experience minimum.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to use own initiative to provide information and support to other staff
