Our safeguarding agenda include delivery of high standards of statutory requirements in respect of the wider adults agenda including, domestic abuse, and harmful practices remit, in alignment with requirements as identified in the London Multiagency Adults Safeguarding Policy, November 2025, The Care Act 2014, and Domestic Abuse Act, 2021, and any other relevant statutory guidance.
Applications are invited from registered adult nurses, who have a ‘live’ NMC Registration, with significant experience of safeguarding adults as identified in the Person Specification of the Job Description. Candidates are required to include evidence within the application and provide clear examples of demonstrable experience within the additional supportive information section of the application form.
We are looking for someone who has effective organisational skills, highly developed communication skills, knowledge and understanding of key legislation and guidance underpinning safeguarding adults at risk and has the ability to interact with people from a wide variety of professional backgrounds.

The post holder will work as part of the Corporate Nursing Safeguarding Team, supporting the Named Safeguarding Professionals to ensure an effective safeguarding service is delivered promoting working across the life course (children, young people and adults services within BHRUT), to ensure that standards are monitored in line with the Trust’s statutory requirements in respect of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and the Care Act 2014.
Under the direction of the Named Nurse, Safeguarding Adults the post holder will work collaboratively with other members of the Trust’s Safeguarding Team to safeguard and promote the welfare of all adults, children and young people at risk of abuse and neglect who access the services of the Trust.
In addition, the post holder will be expected to deputise in the absence of the Named Nurse Safeguarding Adults and also provide direct line management to the Safeguarding Adults Advisor.
We’re an organisation that is getting better and better and our improvements are driven by a determination to deliver care we’re proud of and our patients are happy with. We’re no longer in special measures; we’ve opened two new theatres at our Elective Surgical Hub in King George Hospital (KGH); and, in recognition of our progress, we’ve been shortlisted for Trust of the Year at the Health Service Journal Awards.
We operate from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 330,000 people visiting them last year. We’re campaigning to secure the £35m we need to transform the A&E at Queen’s and get rid of corridor care.
Our patients are benefitting from our Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub.
These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 94,000 scans a year.
The majority of our 8,000 staff – who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can work flexibly and more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited apprenticeship programmes. We’re proud to be a London Living Wage employer.
