Summary

Drive delivery excellence and shape the future of project governance!

As our PMO Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting a major programme, ensuring projects run smoothly and successfully. From managing RAID logs and documentation to overseeing governance, reporting, and change control, you'll be the go-to expert for structure and clarity. You'll champion best practice, guide project teams, and maintain robust processes that keep everything on track. If you're passionate about enabling delivery and making a real impact, this is your opportunity to lead from the centre. Please note this is a fixed-term contract running until March 2027.

This is a home-based role, giving you flexibility to work from your own space. However, you'll need to travel to either our Upavon or London sites for workshops approximately 1-2 times per month, so your home location should allow for this occasional travel.

As part of our commitment to building an inclusive and diverse workforce, we would particularly welcome applications from people who are from Black, Asian and other ethnic minority backgrounds.

What you'll be doing

• Apply and tailor project management methodologies to support large, complex programmes, ensuring governance, reporting, and change control are embedded
• Define and implement organisational structures, roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines for effective programme oversight
• Collaborate on integrated plans, schedule activities, and optimise resource allocation to meet programme demands
• Oversee robust processes for risk, issue, and change control, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely escalation
• Foster transparent, inclusive communication across all levels, building strong relationships and feedback loops
• Maintain accurate documentation, monitor budgets and benefits, analyse data, and drive lessons learned to optimise PMO performance

What we're looking for

Essential skills, experience and behaviours

• Significant experience in project management and leadership roles, with strong knowledge of PMO methodologies and tools
• Proven ability to manage RAID processes, tools and techniques, ensuring adherence to strategies across complex programmes
• Experience in configuration and document management, including version control, secure storage and audit trails
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with resilience in fast-paced environments
• Ability to produce clear, concise written materials and adapt communication styles for different audiences

Desirable skills, experience and behaviours

• PMO or project management qualification (e.g., P3O, MoP, MoR, PRINCE2, MSP, APMP)
• Experience working in public sector organisations or supporting large-scale change initiatives
