A team of PA’s is required to cover 24 hour care across 7 days a week.

Therefore, a range of 12 hour shifts are available; 08:00 to 20:00 and 20:00 to 08:00.

24 hour shifts are also considered.

About the employer
The employer is a young lady living in her own home with 2 dogs. She has Autism, complex PTSD and NES (non-epileptic seizures), she enjoys Arts and Crafts, dog walks, the outdoors and completing puzzles.

A team of personal assistants is sought to support her continued independent life enabling her to enjoy her pastimes and also to assist her to explore and expand her leisure opportunities and activities.

Main Duties
• Support with domestic duties such as cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, laundry, and gardening.
• Support to keep in touch/socialise with friends and family.
• Support to access the community and attend activities or groups.
• Support with budgeting.
• The employer has a motability car, which you will be required to drive, therefore a full driving licence is essential. Restrictions may apply.
• Support to care for/walk dogs.
• Support with personal care such as hair washing or after a seizure showering, toileting and dressing.
• Prompting encouraging with showering, teeth brushing, dressing and all personal hygiene.
• Supporting with administering medication.
• Support with making, keeping, and attending appointments.
• Supporting emotional regulation during periods of overwhelm, dissociation or PTSD triggers.
• Recognising early signs of seizures and providing safe, appropriate response as per seizure support plan.
• Any other task which the employer may reasonably ask you to do which falls within the scope of the job as a Personal Assistant.

Additional employment information
The successful applicant will be friendly, able to give empathetic support, while respecting the employer’s independence but also able to take instruction.

A can-do attitude and aptitude to assist the employer with her varied interests are needed with a willingness to help her explore new activities, joining in when appropriate.

Must be flexible, trustworthy, and active with a good sense of humour.

Must be comfortable with dogs (Employer has one large dog and one small dog).

Able to remain calm, patient and emotionally regulated during seizures, meltdowns, distress or challenging behaviour.

Experience preferred in Autism, training will be given and shadow shifts.
