Crynodeb

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Fire Alarm Maintenance Engineer to join the PHF Fire team. In this role, you will carry out the planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, testing, and minor installations of fire detection and alarm systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites in accordance with UK fire safety regulations and British Standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine inspections, testing, and servicing of fire alarm systems in line with BS 5839-1 and company procedures.
• Complete fault diagnosis and repair work, ensuring systems are fully functional and compliant.
• Carry out small remedial works and system modifications as required.
• Provide clear and accurate service reports, certification, and job documentation using company systems.
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed, including working safely on customer premises.
• Communicate effectively with customers, providing professional advice and ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
• Identify opportunities for system improvements or upgrades, passing leads to the relevant teams.
• Ensure company vehicle, tools, and equipment are maintained in good order.

Skills and Experience
• At least 4 years’ experience working with fire alarm systems.
• Strong knowledge of BS 5839-1 and relevant fire safety legislation.
• Good electrical/mechanical competency and practical problem-solving skills.
• Experience with leading fire alarm brands (e.g., Apollo, Kentec, Advanced etc) is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications (Desirable but not essential)
• FIA or equivalent training modules.
• Electrical qualifications beneficial.
• ECS/CSCS card.
