As a therapy Technical Instructor you will work collaboratively with Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to ensure a high quality, patient centered approach. The role involves working closely with patients to optimise their ability to perform activities of daily living and to maximise independence. The role will also include non-clinical tasks such as record keeping, data collection, admin tasks and equipment maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in as a therapy assistant in acute or community settings. No professional qualifications are required.
• Provide both clinical and administrative support to the Medicine and Care of the Elderly Therapy Team.
• Show initiative, motivation and excellent organisational ability when working closely with therapy staff to develop administrative support and systems for the therapy team.
• To work without direct supervision, but under the direction of a qualified staff member, in the performance of specific tasks for an individual or group/class as part of the treatment and rehabilitation programme.
• To use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with patients and carers.
• Post-holder will be expected, after appropriate training, to perform manual handling tasks.
• Demonstrate time management & prioritisation skills.
• Communicate to the therapists, and other members of the multi-professional team, changes in the patient's condition, response to intervention and relevant discharge plans.
• To provide cover for other Support Staff across the service during periods of absence.
• Required to work with their team on service development and quality assurance projects.
• Participate in 7-day service rota where appropriate.
