ANZUK Education is supporting an Outstanding special school in Croydon that provides exceptional support for pupils with PMLD, complex physical disabilities, sensory needs and significant medical needs. The environment is nurturing, well-resourced and built around a strong multidisciplinary team - including therapists, medical staff and specialist support practitioners - working together to deliver holistic, child-centred education.
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a small class of pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities. You will support sensory-led learning activities, assist with communication approaches such as AAC and objects of reference, and help create an environment where pupils feel safe, engaged and understood.
The role will also involve elements of personal care, positioning, physical support and assisting with therapy programmes set by physiotherapists and occupational therapists. You will be guided by an experienced class teacher and surrounded by a supportive team who value patience, creativity and a relationship-focused approach.
This is an incredibly rewarding role for someone who is calm, empathetic and passionate about supporting pupils with complex needs to experience meaningful progress and positive school experiences.
Key details:
- Long-term role with potential to continue
- Daily rate: £95 - £114.55 depending on experience and PAYE/Umbrella
- Experience supporting pupils with PMLD, SLD or complex physical needs is essential
- Training provided for the right candidate
