Firewatch Operative- Birmingham
O'Neill and Brennan are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Site Labourer / Firewatch Operative to join our team. The primary responsibility is to carry out continuous internal Firewatch duties during hot works, including accurate recording of Firewatch data. When Firewatch duties are not required, the operative will assist with general site labouring tasks, including material handling, site cleanliness, and support for trades. Working Monday-Friday Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm 8hrs paid.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct internal Firewatch inspections during and after hot works in line with site procedures.
• Record Firewatch data accurately and consistently throughout the shift.
• Monitor designated areas for heat transfer, smouldering, or fire risk using a thermal imaging camera (TIC). Full on-site TIC training provided.
• Report any overheating, smoke, or unsafe conditions immediately to the site supervisor.
• Perform general labouring duties, including assisting trades, maintaining site tidiness, and moving materials.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety policies, risk assessments, and site rules.
• Support the safe and efficient progress of the project at all times.
Must have the following:
Required Training / Competencies:
• Working at Height (WAH)
• Manual Handling
• Asbestos Awareness
• TIC training will be provided on-site before commencing Firewatch duties
Additional Notes:
• Candidates must be proactive, reliable, and safety minded.
